The papal almoner, Cardinal Krajewski will deliver some of them to the Italian town, Lecce.
“[These citizens] are responsible when they get on the bus to go to work and restart the economy, as when they go to church to participate in Mass and receive communion,” said the bishops' TV channel.
The Italian bishops said they received more than 300 letters with this request.
The initiative is from The Higher Committee of Human Fraternity, who proposes that everyone, regardless of religion, participate.
