The new resolution, approved unanimously by the 15 council members, calls for the cessation of armed conflicts for at least 90 days, in order to enable the safe and sustained delivery of humanitarian aid to those impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
A report shows chronic hunger has grown worldwide since 2014 and the pandemic is “intensifying vulnerabilities.”
