"They suffer the uncertainty of what will happen in prison, and also for their family situation," said the pope.

The pope asked for an end to the pandemic and for the healing of the sick. He also prayed for victims and their loved ones, as well as for medical workers who care or them.

Organizations like Camillian Disaster Service Internationa (CADIS) and Catholic Hospital Association of India (CHAI) are helping people all over the world.

The Catholic group is keeping its soup kitchen open to serve the poor in Rome. It is also promoting prayer online.

“They are risking their own lives, giving their lives,” he said.
